death comes around

I have been very aware of the concept and event of death recently. I think everyone has a certain moment when they are young where they realize death is inevitable. My sister, who is 4 years younger than me, was having a hard time with this realization when she was 7 or 8 years old. I was probably her age when I first thought about death, however, it wasn’t until I saw her fear, that I started to fear death myself. Now, I don’t fear death but accept it as something that is going to come, at some point that I have almost zero control over. Maybe if we were conscious from a very young age, that we were actually all slowly dieing, and that death wasn’t something to fear, but something to gauge how valuable our lives are, we as people would live life as full as possible, and take more chances. I am not positive, but I think it is the emotion of fear that causes people to live so cautiously and safe. The people I admire the most are almost always ones that take those risks and do something different.
I’ve been gone.

I just stumbled upon this welcoming sentiment this morning down the street from my house. Good to see someone is keeping the dream alive. iPhone photo.
New posts coming soon. The waves have been unusually good the past few weeks, and please check out the new launch of We Are Con Artists in the meantime to see some of my friends work along with some of mine.
Penmar

I like to golf. I used to think it was a sport for old stuck up assholes. I kinda still do sometimes, but its really fun with these guys, some of my best friends, Spencer Robins, Karston Demers, Johnny Pease and Jamie Jacobson at the Par 3 Hole #3 at Penmar Municipal.

Well, this is my 100th post. Not that it is of any real significance, but I figured it a time to look back at some of my old posts and try to find a collection of my favorite images from this journal. I havent updated my portfolio site in some time, ever since starting this blog, so it was an exercise to see if I can put some of them into my portfolio which I am updating right now.
101st post will be coming up tomorrow. Guess I just didnt think I would keep up with it. Thanks for checking it out. All the comments and feedback and views are what motivate me to keep posting.

Right now I am in the middle of setting up my new office. Iit is inundated with books and a bunch of my dads old records, with my desk tucked away in the corner. Looking to have it done by the end of the week, with art hung on the walls and all. Fingers crossed to that one…
