So I finally got this roll of film developed that was left over from Bali. Hence the reason I have waited to post anything. I was pumped to get this roll back since it became an “experiment” of sorts. While shooting the image above (shortly after actually) I was wading in the water back to the beach at Padang in Bali, and I dropped the camera in the water. Thankfully, the camera was just a cheap plastic point and shoot. Not a disposable, but a reusable point and shoot I have just for reasons like this. The camera instantly flooded, and the roll of film inside, which had not been rewound into the canister, was soaking wet with salt water. I manually rewound the roll, and tossed the camera. By the time I dropped the roll off a couple days ago back home, the canister had corroded so bad that the interior wouldnt rotate. The film technician said the roll would probably not come out.
Well, here are the results. Thanks for sticking around.
This is a little alcove area that is pretty rad for photos at Padang Padang beach in Bali on the Bukit peninsula. Leo, chilling in 75 degree water.
The colors, due to the salt water, got extremely tweaked. Also, the tech said the film was practically glued together from the emulsion getting soaked. This also resulted in these weird spots all over the film. Watermarks of sorts, such as right next to my chin etc…
If you have spent ANY amount of time at Uluwatu, you know this local lady. She has only a couple teeth and googly eyes. She cleans up the stairs area, and the bathrooms (behind her in the photo below). Selamat Pagi (Good morning) Everyday is the ritual. And she always says “Monkey’s?”
Sweeping the stairs.
psuedo psychadelic surf check at Ulu’s. Waves are small. Leo.
Salin. Thats the man. We kicked it at his Warung every day, at breakfast and lunch almost everyday there.
Standard scooters mobbing and owning the road.
They own the world… 24 hour DELIVERABLE McDonalds… yes, they have delivery.
We had to… just once…
This roll had been loaded into the camera before I traveled to Bali, and here are a couple photos from my best friend spencer and I goign for a surf up north in oxnard.
As I said before, thanks for sticking around. I have a bunch of more posts backed up that will be coming soon so check back sooner than later.
Hello LA. Get me back to Bali.
